ABOUT US

WSC was founded in 1958 and is located on the lower reaches of the River Weaver near Frodsham in Cheshire.

Our Club caters for dinghy sailing and canoeing on two and a half miles of water and water skiing on one mile of water. The river has very little current and is ideal for beginners and experts alike.

We have a very modern club house which contains a social area, kitchen, male and female changing facilities etc. together with a sauna.

New sailing and/or canoeing members are always welcome, The ski section membership is currently full to new Ski boat owning members. Further details can be found on the Membership page.

PAUL BRASSINGTON

COMMODORE

I joined WSC 20 years ago on the advice of my good friend Phil Watts. Once you visit the setting the attraction is obvious.

From holding various roles I was elected Commodore in 2013 and still hold the role. I have the pleasure of being a member of a unique foreword looking Committee who look after the best interests of the Club.

VICE COMMODORE

I joined the WSC in 2005 to introduce my young son to the delights of life afloat, and the amazing camaraderie at the club has meant that we’ve been members ever since.

I began service on the committee in 2011 in the role of Secretary, and in 2017 I took up the post of Vice Commodore.

MEMBERS SECRETARY

I have been a member of the WSC for about 20 years and have enjoyed the wonderful facilities we have.

I sail a Comet Extra and have had some wonderful sailing days and some not so good swimming days, but we do have a first class club with some very friendly members. The club is made up of talented members who make being in this club pretty special, we look forward to your visit.

Community group partners

The Weaver sailing and Water ski club has two group memberships:

The Frodsham Sea Scouts

Vibe Outdoors

We are delighted to welcome these very structured groups who are providing unique outdoor activities for schoolchildren and young adults from the north west.

Both groups welcome a wide variety of ages, and abilities from a great variety of backgrounds, For many of them the Weaver has given then their first opportunity to try many of these water borne activities for the first time,

We are pleased to say that this opportunity has even produced future stars who have gone on to represent the country in their chosen water sport.

We will always look to work with and accommodating any community groups that would like access to the river and our facilities for more information fill in the contact form on the website.
